Soon she was being chased and running for her life. The only person Shona trusted was her sister, the healer. Her sister Grace had contact with the Fae and gave her a spell that was supposed to send Shona to their home in their time. Something went wrong as she was sent to New Orleans, Louisiana in 2020 hundreds of years into the future.

Shona was only twenty-one year old and fell in love with her husband in the future Colin McCaim, who ran a billionaire, shipping industry.  They had four sons Rhys, Reikart, Greyson and Ian. Sadly tragedy hits this wealthy family, as their mother disappeared five years ago which surprised them. All the McCaim sons have now taken over the business. Now they face even more tragedy as their Dad is in a coma.Though now they find out everything their Dad told his sons was true which breaks their hearts filling it with so much guilt. Now it is all up to Ian McCain to save the day. The only way to return his brothers if they are even alive is to time-travel in medieval Scotland and bring them all home. At this point he doesn’t realize all his brothers have found love on their way. Ian is scared to death he might time travel to the wrong time. There is no security or guarantees in time travel and you can not do a do over. It is a one shot deal!

Now all three of his brothers, are either dead or in medieval Scotland, as Ian is the youngest  brother and the only one who can save the day. Ian has now seen all three of his brothers vanish before his very eyes. He followed his brothers instructions and shared their story with the only cousin they trusted and processed all the legal stuff. Just in case they never make it back or worse plus someone to watch over and care for their Dad. Ian knew the spell by heart at this point and it was his turn to find and rescue his family. For once in his life he is the one in charge!

Luck was on his side-as Ian lands in medieval Scotland, next to Hightower castle which immediately reunites him with his brother Greyson. Now he must wait for his other two brothers to meet them and is heartbroken-his mother has already traveled back to New Orleans to be with their Dad. It’s just that she understands him better than anyone. She is the only family member that knew Ian was miserable working in the family business but was afraid to disappoint his family and let them down. He hates his job, but feels like a traitor to leave his family and branch out to do something else. It was hard enough being the baby of the family, it was like he could never quite measure up compared to his perfect brothers.

Now his medieval family gave him a task due to him being so good at his job in the future. Ian had always been charismatic and could make people feel comfortable and at ease with him. He could also easily convince people to his way of thinking, the reason his brother and Uncle gave him this specific task. Another reason he was on his way to Laird Kelbrue’s home-to hopefully persuade him to switch his loyalties again.

It turns out that this Laird is very religious and will birth a son in the future, who will be a key player in Robert the Bruce’s success at the Battle of Bannockburn. This is Scotland’s first Battle of Independence that will go in the history books. Well Ian had been focused and on his way until he saw this beautiful lass at the loch which presented a wee bit of a delay.

Lady Màiri Kelbrue wants to marry Ambrose, who is from a neighboring clan she has known since childhood. Except now their fathers once friends now hated each other, plus Ambrose never looked at her ugly birthmark like everyone else does. So when she meets this handsome man with a strange accent at the loch. She sees him staring at her and assumes that he is being cruel like people in the village.  When she tries to hide her mark, he unfolds her hand and actually touches it and calls her beautiful! Ian dives in kissing her passionately making her feel things she never felt before! Of course once he finds out this is the Laird’s daughter he knows he is trouble!  So he feels he only has one option and ends up married! Ian is like honest Abe and didn’t think a kiss was a big deal. Of course secretly her father really likes and admires Clan MacKinnishand wants this alliance. He truly admires Ian too as he has that effect on people.

Ian knows he is going back to his own time and decides never to consummate their marriage. Of course some things are harder to do and he starts to feel things he never did before including love and  mjealousy. Yet can he allow her to leave a father she loves and a maid who has been like a mother to her her entire life? Ian knows how difficult that would be missing his mother for these past five years and having a father dying in a coma. Máiri too realizes she is in love with Ian and feeling a bit rejected. Will The McCaim family ever get back their own time? Will it be too late for all of them? Will they ever see their father alive? Find out the conclusion of this magical series where hiding things is never the answer which only gives empty results.

This is sadly the last book of this Mecca/Johnstone time-travel series that has been totally epic to the coor! It is both heartbreaking and enchanting but delivers a breathtaking message! Fans,of paranormal time-travel will absolutely love this book. Each novel brilliantly has a swoon worthy hero that goes to medieval Scotland to rescue their mother but finds love on the way. All four books are awe-inspiring masterpieces that readers will want to read again and again. It is has multi detailed characters with rich, detailed story lines. The type of story that is absolutely unique, original and unforgettable!
