June 1193, England

Sir Giric de Beaumont MacDonald  wants vengeance against the Englishman, Baron Gillingham, who destroyed his family. The black guard who murdered his father. It had taken him eleven long years for the chance to face his enemy.  Also the King of Scotland, wants to find out where Lord Yves loyalties stand, who is the host of this tournament. Giric is disgusted his father’s killer wasn’t here, as he was home dying unknown to him, so his heir, Edward known as Eddie, was sent in his place. It still didn’t matter as his vengeance was still going to take place. Though he was not a believer that a son should completely pay for his father’s sins, so he won’t kill him. So he had to rearrange and change his original murder plan. In his he will fight this son in combat where they use unblunted weapons. So the men fighting will still get horribly injured and wounded. Not only that, but the son still must also pay for his father’s heinous actions to abduct Eddie and ask for high ransom to ruin the Linton family.

Giric saw this beautiful woman playing archery with her eyes actually closed! However, this bonny lass was hitting a bullseye each and every time. She was the most beautiful lass he has ever laid his eyes on. Sassenach or nae, the attraction was immediate, not realizing it was his enemy’s daughter, Jennet Linton. A woman with a secret tragic past, who felt something in her life was about to change. She has been caring for her dying father, her father’s heir Eddie, her disadvantaged younger brother who walks with a limp. She also cares for her youngest brother William, as her mother died from childbirth delivering him. She has been more of a mother than a sister to her brothers Edward and William. Now her brother and heir, Eddie, was about to marry her best friend, Ada. His bride-to-be will be able to perfectly take care of her family in her place.

Jennet’s brother suggested she move forward with her life, discover new found happiness, with a husband to love and have a family with.  She was definitely past overdue to have her own family at her age of twenty three summers. Jennet has been given the rare choice of a woman of her station, to make her own decisions, to find and choose her own husband to love. She is hoping she will find one at Lord. Yves Tournament, since she now has the freedom to pick a potential man to court, desire and love, a possible future husband. She has liked being her family’s caretaker, but knew her brother was right. It was time to move on with her future. She  feared change, yet Jennet could feel change was about to come. Would the change be positive or negative? It was too soon to determine that as of yet.

Now Jennet meets and flirts with this Scottish handsome honorable knight. Scotland brings memories of a past tragedy for Jennet. However, perhaps this knight can help erase those horrifying memories and turn them into new glorious memories. As she falls hard and quickly for this man….will she find out the truth. Besides another man wants to marry her, but for dishonorable, nefarious, and corrupt reasons. He forces her honorable brother's hand and takes away her freedom to choose. A choice her family has always promised her. Now will she be forced to marry a cruel, cold, unfeeling man tshe seems to fear. Will she find out Giric wants vengeance against her family? Will she feel heartbroken and betrayed? Will Giric choose love over revenge? Will she lose her freedom th choose and be forced to marry a heartless black guard no matter what Giric decides? So many unanswered questions is another Lori Ann Bailey must read.

Lori Ann Bailey pens another phenomenal book I could not put down. Warning: Have the tissues nearby readers, as it is definitely another action packed, emotional heart-puller!  It is filled with vengeance, revenge, attempted murder, freedom, forced marriage, betrayal, attempted murder,  arranged marriage, treachery, desire, flirtation, passion , and of course love.

I love that there is some cameo’s appearances of othe author characters iin this series from  previous and future books that aren’t released yet,. As this Tourney is hopping! ❤️ It also presents how a woman of a higher station has the rare opportunity to pick her own mate.  This story also includes how some unclear interpretations can come to wrongful decisions and even bigger regrets. Of course there is flirtation that turns to love, but when the one you love is putting your entire family you were born to protect in the worst type of lethal danger what will she choose? Will he lose the one he loves due for his stubborn need for vengeance? Who will even survive?

Lady Sabrina Bell feels ashamed and stupid when her admirer does not show for a tryst at Hyde Park as planned. Then she is horrified when she is robbed and thrown into the Serpentine! Yet she is especially mortified when she is rescued by a gorgeous strapping Scot, Graeme Kendrick. Could her day get any worse?

Graeme who has been trying to find this gang of thieves who pray on the wealthy and royal Sassenachs of the ton. He is a government agent or as some would call a spy. His employers aren’t too thrilled with him as he seems to be losing his touch lately. Now he was tracking down one of the notorious thieves of the gang and is about to apprehend him. Then he sees the bloody black guard is charging for this wealthy dressed woman!

Graeme sure wasn’t expecting this beauty in this horrible weather and member of the possible gentry or ton so early in the morning! Unfortunately she seems to be the thief’s next target! He is filled with fear when he sees she was pushed into the Serpentine he could not let this beauty drown! Once again he lost his prey but sparks fly for him immediately seeing this beautiful woman who he knows is Lady Sabrina Bell, though they had never officially met before. Yet attraction sparkles on both sides for this new acquaintance for both of them.

Later Graeme finds out the man she was to meet is a big enemy of his family. He had been exiled into the continent but now the villain was back and Graeme was furious and ready to break furniture! Anyone who read the previous books in this series will know what crimes this horrible vile, exiled Marquess of Cringlewood did! Unfortunately with nobility now he has the King’s mistress and other members of nobility backing him up.

Lady Sabrina was a wealthy heiress a daughter of a wealthy English Earl who hated everything Scottish since his Scottish wife died of illness there! Sabrina is also the Kings’s Goddaughter! Finally when others made Sabrina aware this Marquess was a cruel penniless fortune hunter but a very bad cruel person as well. When Lady Sabrina questioned Graeme about the type of person the Marquess really is, he allowed her to know he is untrustworthy, abusive to women, besides being in financial debt. He warns her never to be alone with him. She just now remembered the scandal involving Graeme’s sister-in-law and his brother Royal, Sabrina had been out of town when this occurred.

Sabrina was not shocked of Cringlewood being a fortune hunter, as most men pursuing her were. It was his other flaws that surprised her. She Was disgusted she didn’t get a correct read on this scoundrel! Now Sabrina was no shrinking violet and planned to interrogate him and have him admit his crimes putting herself in danger again! She didn’t want him to hurt other young wealthy women. As the Marquess shows his true colors and the ugliness inside him. So she puts herself in another situation where Graeme saves her again!

Now Graeme had a new assignment to go back to Scotland something he hadn’t done in two years. As Graeme has many self esteem issues, never feeling good enough and filled with guilt and remorse. In addition for his own health and for Sabrina,he had to get away from Sabrina Bell. He knew he was not good enough to even lick her boots. Graeme had many skeletons he needed to get rid of in his closet, his father had been mentally abusive to him as a young boy. He turned to the spirits after his wife died blaming his children for her death, this filled Graeme with so much guilt and hatred for himself. Luckily the grandfather took care of them once he saw the cruelty of their father!

Now Lady Sabrina’s father hated everything Scottish, so he ignored everything Scottish even his own properties and estates, which he let others run. Graeme was also a younger son and her father would never allow something to develop between his Sassenach angel and himself. His new assignment was to guard the King but he was surprised when he see’s that Lady Sabrina came with the King to celebrate in Scotland’s capitol!

The feelings between these two just get stronger and love is in the Scotland air. Plus now his crazy family was doing everything to make a match between them with their crazy antics! They wanted Graeme and Sabrina to be happy and together, yet this is also is an adventure, filled with danger and heroism! Soon they trade places and Sabrina saves Graeme in some very dangerous situations. Though he is spitting bullets she is putting herself in danger for him. He sees Sabrina as this perfect woman who wants to make the world a better and safer place for women and children or any person who suffers. She had always been hidden from the realities of the world but when she befriends some young pick pockets and tries to help them- now seeing the cruelties of the world. She also wants to save everyone it nearly breaks Graemes heart yet during this scuffle he finds out the person with a target on their back is the woman he loves as many are blaming her for her fathers mistakes.

Will Sabrina ever be truly safe whether it is fortune hunters or cutthroats? Will Graeme ever feel he is good enough for his Sassenach Angel? Will Sabrina ever be able to catch the one man who owns her heart? The one man who doesn’t care about her wealth. Will she be able to prove he is good enough for her, a true hero, the bravest, kindest, and most stubborn man she has ever met! Will they ever be able to get her Scottish hating father to accept their love? What will the King do? Will the Kendrick family be overjoyed? Will this couple ever come together and find a happily ever after? A book readers definitely don’t want to miss! Read and find out much more!

This book made me laugh and made me cry. The matchmaking Grandfather and all the Kendricks and all their antics is absolutely hilarious! Even the flirtation of Royal and Ainsley, and other married characters is hilarious. The children in this novel are absolute scene stealers no matter if it was hilarity of the wealthy children or orphans pulling your heart strings. I found this book a wonderful escape that I did not want to end besides it is absolutely brilliant! This is my favorite of the series as Ms. Kelly write another winner. This is my favorite Vanessa Kelly novel though I love them all.

“The Highlander’s English Bride” is a book you can read as a stand-alone. I personally think you will get more out of the background if you read all three books. As you will understand more about the family, brothers and the matchmaking grandfather Angus too. Kind of like connecting the dots. It’s the readers decision, this is just my humble opinion.

“The Highlander’s English Bride” was pure joy I can’t recommend it enough!

Shona was being framed and would have to be killed too, since she innocently delivered the note to the King. The King read the letter out loud, since he loved his Queen and it read, she wanted an amorous tryst with him. It was all a lie of course so he could be murdered! Soon she was being chased and running for her life. The only person Shona trusted was her sister, the healer. Her sister Grace had contact with the Fae and gave her a spell that was supposed to send Shona to their home in their time. Something went wrong as she was sent to New Orleans, Louisiana in 2020 hundreds of years into the future.

Shona was only twenty-one year old and fell in love with her husband in the future Colin McCaim, who ran a billionaire, shipping industry.  They had four sons Rhys, Reikart, Greyson and Ian. Colin knows of her time travel abilities, but they never shared this with their sons in order to protect them. Many years have passed and these sons are now adults. Sadly tragedy hits this wealthy family, as their mother disappeared five years ago which surprised them. All the McCaim sons have now taken over the business. Now they face even more tragedy as their Dad is in a coma.Though now they find out everything their Dad told his sons was true which breaks their hearts filling it with so much guilt. They now have evidence with spell books, chants and ancient relics to help them navigate on this nail biting adventure. Except their time is running out, their mom is probably the only person who might be able to save their father. So they must time-travel to medieval Scotland, attempt to find her and bring her home. As the in this last and final book, the saga continues...

New Orleans 2020
Scotland, 1286

Now it is all up to Ian McCain to save the day. The only way to return his brothers if they are even alive is to time-travel in medieval Scotland and bring them all home. At this point he doesn’t realize all his brothers have found love on their way. Ian is scared to death he might time travel to the wrong time. There is no security or guarantees in time travel and you can not do a do over. It is a one shot deal!

Now all three of his brothers, are either dead or in medieval Scotland, as Ian is the youngest  brother and the only one who can save the day. Ian has now seen all three of his brothers vanish before his very eyes. He followed his brothers instructions and shared their story with the only cousin they trusted and processed all the legal stuff. Just in case they never make it back or worse plus someone to watch over and care for their Dad. Ian knew the spell by heart at this point and it was his turn to find and rescue his family. For once in his life he is the one in charge!

Luck was on his side-as Ian lands in medieval Scotland, next to Hightower castle which immediately reunites him with his brother Greyson. Now he must wait for his other two brothers to meet them and is heartbroken-his mother has already traveled back to New Orleans to be with their Dad. It’s just that she understands him better than anyone. She is the only family member that knew Ian was miserable working in the family business but was afraid to disappoint his family and let them down. He hates his job, but feels like a traitor to leave his family and branch out to do something else. It was hard enough being the baby of the family, it was like he could never quite measure up compared to his perfect brothers.

Now his medieval family gave him a task due to him being so good at his job in the future. Ian had always been charismatic and could make people feel comfortable and at ease with him. He could also easily convince people to his way of thinking, the reason his brother and Uncle gave him this specific task. Another reason he was on his way to Laird Kelbrue’s home-to hopefully persuade him to switch his loyalties again.

It turns out that this Laird is very religious and will birth a son in the future, who will be a key player in Robert the Bruce’s success at the Battle of Bannockburn. This is Scotland’s first Battle of Independence that will go in the history books. Well Ian had been focused and on his way until he saw this beautiful lass at the loch which presented a wee bit of a delay.

Lady MΓ iri Kelbrue wants to marry Ambrose, who is from a neighboring clan she has known since childhood. Except now their fathers once friends now hated each other, plus Ambrose never looked at her ugly birthmark like everyone else does. So when she meets this handsome man with a strange accent at the loch. She sees him staring at her and assumes that he is being cruel like people in the village.  When she tries to hide her mark, he unfolds her hand and actually touches it and calls her beautiful! Ian dives in kissing her passionately making her feel things she never felt before! Of course once he finds out this is the Laird’s daughter he knows he is trouble!  So he feels he only has one option and ends up married! Ian is like honest Abe and didn’t think a kiss was a big deal. Of course secretly her father really likes and admires Clan MacKinnishand wants this alliance. He truly admires Ian too as he has that effect on people.

Ian knows he is going back to his own time and decides never to consummate their marriage. Of course some things are harder to do and he starts to feel things he never did before including love and  mjealousy. Yet can he allow her to leave a father she loves and a maid who has been like a mother to her her entire life? Ian knows how difficult that would be missing his mother for these past five years and having a father dying in a coma. MΓ‘iri too realizes she is in love with Ian and feeling a bit rejected. Will The McCaim family ever get back their own time? Will it be too late for all of them? Will they ever see their father alive? Find out the conclusion of this magical series where hiding things is never the answer which only gives empty results.

This is sadly the last book of this Mecca/Johnstone time-travel series that has been totally epic to the coor! It is both heartbreaking and enchanting but delivers a breathtaking message! Fans,of paranormal time-travel will absolutely love this book. Each novel brilliantly has a swoon worthy hero that goes to medieval Scotland to rescue their mother but finds love on the way. All four books are awe-inspiring masterpieces that readers will want to read again and again. It is has multi detailed characters with rich, detailed story lines. The type of story that is absolutely unique, original and unforgettable!

Scottish/ English Border
June 1193

The Sutherland clan is suffering horribly, as they are starving to death! Some of their clan have even died due to malnourishment and lack of food. The clan has had a bad harvest with bad crops due to heavy droughts. It is not like the Sutherland twins, Graham and his elder brother Cormac, who is the new chieftain, have not asked for relief. They had asked their neighboring Ross clan for assistance, yet they heartlessly refused! However, the heinous, despicable, black guards actually qgave aid to their biggest enemy - the MacDonald’s! Well it was time to pay the piper!

Now both Brodie and Baston Ross have both acquired two wealthy sassenach heiresses that they plan to marry. To kill two birds with one stone Graham hashes out a desperate but clever plan to both save the clan and get sweet vengeance against the hated Ross clan! Of course Graham realizes his life was going to change forever! He imagines Lady Clara de Montfort, as this ugly, nagging, Sassenach wench of a wife, but he would do this in a heartbeat just to save his clan! As his brother Cormac decided he would go after Chieftain Brodie Ross’s betrothed, Lady Isolde, since he was the Sutherland’s Chieftain so that made sense. The other problem is his brother, he doesn’t exactly have a smooth, silver tongue with the lassies. He needed to stop frowning, learn how to flirt and show his lady the dent in his cheek by smiling more often. Cormac is a far cry from a ladies man, but this plot has to be a win for the both of them to work. Unfortunately they only have a week at Lord Yves tourney at Rose Citadel for them to accomplish their goal to break these betrothals and steal their wealthy treasures in bloodthirsty England!

Lady Clara de Montfort of Normandy, France, has a
father Count de Evreux, who would always defend and protect her. He never would of allowed this farce of marriage to happen if he had been well. Sadly her uncaring, selfish, conniving mother and her Aunt, who is in a royal marriage to Prince John hatched up this plan. Lady Clara is being forced into a marriage she doesn’t want all-she doesn’t even want to be married to anyone and only wants to return to her father and animals in Normandy. This would be a royal marriage as well, to her it feels like she is being sold like a cow for coin. On top of that she is not allowed to bring her arrows as she loves to practice the sport of archery. She is only allowed to bring her horse and hawk.  She is forbidden to bring her menagerie of pets that includes her four dogs, two cats, two sheep, three pet bunnies, a squirrel, coy pond which is so heartbreaking. So she only wants her betrothal to be broken as she is forbidden to do it, but will force this Baston Ross  to do it! Clara will make him think how miserable she will make him and will be the most horrible wife, making him break the betrothal!

Now as she meets Baston Ross and finds him a total self-centered, conceited idiot. There was no way she was going to be tied down to him for the rest of her life. There had to be a way out than she meets the charming, Gregor Sutherland, a man who becomes her partner in crime to help her get rid of her unwanted fiancΓ©. Unfortunately he isn’t the smartest lad and does not even understands her insults and sarcasm plus she sees his cruelty to others and how he lashes out to others he feels beneath him.

Clara soon meets her Shield, the most handsome and flirtatious Graham Sutherland of Scotlande. She soon discovers he is no admirer of her betrothed and realizes he can be her partner in crime. Feelings start to develop on both sides yet she knows Graham will never want to marry her and only consider her a friend. Except she doesn’t mind learning to kiss from this man. For Graham, Clara is an unexpected surprise as she is both beautiful, smart, kind, funny and independent.

Will Graham and his brother be able to save their clan from starvation? Will he realize this lass is worth more than her wealth and beauty to save his clan? Will his plan succeed in stealing another man’s bride? Will Baston Ross kill him out of jealousy for his possesion? Will he believe Clara is involved in a political plot?  Will he ever open his heart?

Will Clara ever find out the real reason Graham Sutherland came into her life? Will she feel he’s another person who only wants her money and doesn’t see her self worth? Will this totally destroy her and shatter her tender heart? Would she ever be able to forgive Graham if she discovers his betrayal? Will she ever be able to escape her unwanted marriage to Baston Ross? Will she find out her Mother and Aunt’s and Uncle’s political shenanigans?  Will she ever go back to Normandy and see her father and pets again? This and so many more questions to watch and see how this magnificent story unfolds.

I have been reading Eliza Knight for over a decade! Her stories always have had the quality of stirring my heart with so much depth and beauty-that has this mesmerizing effect on me.  Her hero’s are absolutely swoon worthy, loyal, protective, brave, loving  and honorable. Of course dented cheeks don’t hurt either! These heroine’s are strong, brave, honorable, sensual, independent, intelligent women and both the men and women have these magnetic caring souls. Of course the plotting is always fantastic with breathtaking settings, clever dialogue and multi dimensional main characters including secondary characters too. As an animal lover this a big plus for me too!

This is another book that Ms. Knight  knocked out of the park in my humble opinion! It is a
riveting, fast-paced, page turning, romantic adventure that I couldn’t put down. I read in one setting it was absolutely phenomenal. I absolutely loved this story “The Highlander’s Dare” by Eliza Knight. She is one of my favorite authors as every book I have read I have always loved. This is actually a prequel to her (Stolen Bride) Series. I am a huge huge fan of her “Stolen Bride”series too!  Also if you read this book carefully you might see a couple characters from a previous book or future book in the series. You can definitely read them as stand alone books, but I highly recommend you read them all. They are all written by bestselling authors which I have included in this review.

Make sure to grab a copy of “The Highlander’s Dare” by Eliza Knight today. A book you definitely do not want to miss!

Also coming in June check out a brand new series by Eliza Knight that looks unforgettable “The Rebel Wears Plaid” which will be the first book in The Prince Charlies Angels series coming out June 30th 2020. It will surely be another heart melter! Happy Reading!

This includes a one sided lost love in Scotland who once owned his heart. To be able to get to his destination having no coin he must sell his sword. Now his new journey to Scotland begins.

Maggie has been married to the Earl of Mar, a brutal, unfaithful, uncaring, selfish, man. He just throws her away like a piece of garbage! Accusing her of being barren never blaming himself of course as it is always the woman’s fault according to the Earl of Mar and his nasty mother! He steals her dowry and gives her land on the remote Hola isle. It is near the western coast off the Ardnamurchan, but is probably worthless.

Then after this mistreatment and her own mother is not even very welcoming which was very extremely hurtful. Maggie feels coming home has no direction.  Men make sexual offers, thinking she is an unwanted used wife, can be a mistress or worse and open for the taking. Plus these men don’t have to worry about unwanted pregnancy since she is supposedly barren. Now the women whisper about their bairns behind her back. This is another subject that makes Maggie uncomfortable, inadequate and heartbroken. She feels like a total failure as a woman for both her family and clan.  On top of that one is obsessesed with her, which brings war to her clans door. It  targets her clan, harming both her brother and father so she must leave home Narnian Castle, in Loch Lomond for their safety and go to this isle.

Maggie feels this is the right to do, her family worries that dark seeded characters like pirates and Vikings might occupy this isle. So they feel she needs a guard since their is no husband or male family member to protect her.

Now Phillipe de Poitiers is granted a job to make some coin from Laird MacLaren of Loch Lomond hired to check out the isle his daughter wants to live on. He also by becoming a guard to Laird MacLaren’s daughter Maggie, the former Lady of Mar. The attraction is immediate but many dangers occur too with this couple on this couple.
