England, 1193

This book centers on Irishmen who have lost everything from titles, clan, wealth, and home that are exiled out of Ireland. Quite by the uncharted sea  and swept up on the English coast. These Irishmen set up shop in England, their greatest enemies lands, yet they have no real choice. They take up tasks no matter how corrupt or treasonous it might be, as long as they paid for these destructive deeds.

Mรกel was delivering political messages as Richard the Lionheart is being held for ransom by the Holy Roman Emperor. Richard’s evil brother is starting a rebellion with English Nobles. Now d’Argent had no plans as he is nearly beaten to death. Yet that is not what he is most furious about. He is furious the Baron stole his father’s sword that had been in his family for generations. Some even believe this very ancient sword had magical abilities, something this evil Baron should never have in his possession!

Mรกel discovers this Baron d’Argent will be attending this grand tournament, to basically sell his beautiful daughter to the highest bidder to fill his coffers. To cover all the basics his daughter Lady Cassia d’Argent had six suitors. Her father has her believing in fairy tales of chivalrous knights of her romance novels. This is far from reality. He was selling his own daughter to the highest bidder. What many didn’t know is they were in financial straits that could ruin him and cause him to lose everything. He thinks Mรกel is dead but is in for a wide awakening, especially when he trades his own daughter for his own life. Except she learns her father has no worship for her as her life might possibly be in danger too.

Soon she sees Mรกel is the knight of her dreams but can his enemies daughter have a future with an Outlaw like him? So many are against a possible union with Mรกel and Cassia. Do they even have a chance? A book Kennedy fans do not want to miss.

I absolutely love Kris Kennedy books and have been reading her since her debut. Always riveting, fast paced, emotional, romantic, action packed, adventure, from start to finish. A book that is absolutely unforgettable that I read in one sitting. A book for the keeper shelf that readers will want to revisit again. A total delightful read.

Another book that has all the elements readers love with breathtaking dialogue, multi dimensional characters, corrupt villains, swoon worthy heroes, clever heroines, brilliant plotting and awe-inspiring dialogue!

I love that this series is interconnected with other authors that will make it absolutely magnificent!
