King Robert the Bruce has uncovered some traitors in an assassination plots against him. The mastermind, William de Soules he allowed to breath with life in prison instead of executions by hanging. de Soules wants revenge on those who betrayed him including Kieran MacAdams and Vivienne de Valance of the french court. The hero and heroine of this story and wants the Scottish king dead!
First order by the Scottish King is Kieran is to protect the French Queen’s handmaiden. Vivienne de Valance who absolutely saved King Robert of Scotland’s life.
Vivienne and Kieran both have a tormented past and secrets. Vivienne is not the woman Kieran thought she was but he still refuses to let his heart get involved. Yes she is the most beautiful woman he has ever seen but he must convince Vivienne of the danger she is in! Will she listen and accept she’s a target or does she assume the French court offer protection on its own merit. This information is far from true.
Kieran MacAdams does not understand this is Vivienne's second chance and possibly her only chance. As a previous scandal nearly ruined her, now she is close to securing a match with a wealthy French nobleman at court. Yet Kieran wants to whisk her away from her Sovereign, her Queen, whom she loves serving, plus all her friends, whom are also The Queen’s ladies. What can Kieran do to convince her that Vivienne de Valance the most beautiful women in France has a bloody target on her back! Author Emma Prince again weaves true history with historic value with an emotional fictional romance. Plus revisiting characters from previous books like a family reunion. Phenomenal dialogue, breathtaking setting, swoon worthy hero, a heroine that you want to save, nail biting plots, nefarious villains, plots that are so superb, intense and dazzling. This story is exhilarating, captivating and spell binding! A book I read in one sitting that I could not put down!
This novel is is full of non-stop action right from the start and throughout the entire novel. The attraction between Kieran and Vivienne just grows and becomes more intense. Plus danger is constantly at their heels will it be love or death?
I highly recommend this book, Her Wild Highlander by Emma Prince which is an absolute masterpiece!
