This fast moving tale starts where Arabella de Percy has been kept captive, by the villainess Geoffrey Longford. He is her new guardian appointed by the King. Also he is her brother Iain’s killer and expects to marry her - so he can claim Penswyck castle, lands, title and coin. There was no way she was going to marry that evil murdering miscreant, King or no King’s approval! Even if she was now penniless, since this blackguard had the King’s ear and was given everything she owns - including her dowry! She is going to escape with the help of her two elder servants Maggie and Dougal of Clan Fraser.  They have been more like surrogate parents, especially since her parents both died from illness years before. They came with her mother ~ when she married her father in England many years ago. 

Arabella has a destination her Uncle Hammish, Laird Fraser’s lands, in the Highlands of Scotland. She had sent a message to her Uncle, but worries he never got it. Time is running out,  Arabella can't wait any longer, plus it's the best opportunity since Longford is away. She knows she won't be alive for long if she marries this knave! As if she’d ever marry her brother's murderer! A man she has always disliked now she despises with every fiber of her being! 

However, she feels part of her brother's death is her fault too. So Arabella lives with the guilt, as Longford had previously asked for her hand which she refused. Her brother Iain, had always given her the rare choice to pick her own groom. Arabella wanted a loving marriage like her parents, not a business deal for wealth, titles and greed. The very reason she had turned down every proposal so far. Now she feels her brother might be alive if she accepted this evil man's proposal. 

The plan is to ride hard and fast to Fraser lands in Scotland,  but worries about Maggie and Dougal leaving them behind. They fear they will slow her down due to their age. So she climbs out her window and rides her horse to gate. To her shock she meets with her rescuer, Laird Calum MacGregor!

Calum has known Hammish Fraser since the day he was born and they are close friends as well. So he asks him to marry his niece with a handsome bride price. He knows what a good honorable man Calum is and what protect his niece with his life. Calum refuses but will rescue the lass due to his friendship with Iain. Yet even though it would help his clan his pride can't say yes. As he was on betrothed  once before and when the bride to be just looked at his scarred face she looked horrified. So she had her father end the betrothal agreement, after that Calum swore never to marry again! Yet as they travel to Scotland and to MacGregor land sparks fly! 

Calum still has a problem with his confidence due to the old war wounds on his face. Plus Arabella is the most beautiful he ever met but plus she wears her heart is as big as an ocean. How is supposed to resist plus he notices she doesn't seem to mind his face. Calum does wear his heart on his sleeve and his lack of confidence in his looks is obvious. Little does he realize this wee lass finds him both beautiful inside and out. Plus she sees this braw warrior as honorable always putting others first and he makes her feel safe and secure. Something she hasn't felt since her brother's death. 

Yet there are obstacle as well including jealousy, betrayal, misunderstanding, abduction, mischief, passion, joy, trust and love. Including a tear jerking secondary story involving her Uncle Hammish (Laird Fraser) and Calum's Aunt Elena. Have those Kleenex ready readers. Plus Longford is not going to give up his meal ticket to get his title and all that goes with it! He can't get that unless he's married to Arabella ! He will lope off any heads in his way to get his prize even if he has to drag her kicking and screaming to the altar! 

Geoffrey Longford also has a devious plan going into action! Wil he get his prize or will he lose? Will Calum ever believe a woman could ever care for him with his scarred face? Will he ever believe that this beautiful lassie is exactly what he wants and needs? 

Secrets will be revealed that could cost them their lives! Will this star crossed couple be able to survive all the secrets, misunderstanding and mayhem? Will love, faith, trust and joy overcome all the obstacles in their way. Will enemy have his way shattering hearts as Arabella and Calum part ways forever?  You will have to read this spectacular story to find out!  

I loved so many secondary characters and stories too! I hope Mairi and Aaron get a chance at love plus that rascal cousin Liam MacGregor! The flirt needs a good woman to show him the true meaning of love! 

BRAVO! This is the debut novel for Ms Limoges, but it's totally brilliant in my opinion.  I could not put it down! Totally knocked this one out of the park!  Omg I loved it from start to finish! It had me so hooked I can't wait to read the next one in her new “Highland Loves” series. 

 If you love your heroes Scottish, honorable and swoon worthy you definitely don't want to miss it! Beautiful Highland settings, wonderful dialogue,  amazing characters with twisting and turning plots that carry you away! A definite must read  for Scottish historical readers who love their heroes braw kilted honorable and sizzling hot!

This book Center's on the four St. Claire sisters Elizabeth, Anne, Victoria and Mary. They are orphans and live with Lady Esmeralda their chaperone. All related to the Scot, the Duke of of Caithness. He is a distant cousin, their benefactor who has financed their season. He would like to find them all good husbands, as he has also provided them all with generous dowries. Unfortunately he cannot oversee and protect them as he would like, his wife Lana is expecting their first child. So he has sends Scottish friends  Hamish Robb and Ranald Robb in his place to escort, guard ,  and  protect the ladies and inspect, approve or disapprove their suitors.

This book’s heroine is Elizabeth, Hamish Robb is the swoon worthy Scottish hero.

Elizabeth absolutely doesn't care about titles. Elizabeth hasn't been to Scotland since she was a child but knows she would rather live their than England. Lord Twiggenberry her suitor is a great match. A man she feels nothing for! Elizabeth wants a love match and when she meets Hamish she knows he is exactly the kind of man she wants. Elizabeth doesn't care about titles or the ton or society think! She just wants a man she could love and will love her back. Elizabeth is instantly attracted to her guard Hamish. Hamish is also attracted to Elizabeth but trying to keep his distance doing the honorable thing. Plus he doesn't feel he is good enough she being a titled Lady and he being beneath  her or has anything to offer her. 

Will this star crossed couple be able to overlook their obstacles and social class differences? Will love win or social pressure from groups such as the ton win? You must read to find out more anyone who is a little rebellious will l absolutely love this story! I know I am and I did!

Magnificent setting  phenomenal dialogue and twisting plot lines was absolutely brilliant! A fast page riveting adventure filled with mystery, supsense, social class differences,  steamy passion, love and more! 

I highly recommend this spectacular read from start to finish! Another Captivating story historical romance readers will love! 

What an entertaining fun read! I highly recommend as again Sabrina York weaves another delightful read! A book reader won't be able to put down. 

There are also secondary characters also have delightful stories with Scot, Ranald Gunn, Baron of Bower and Bookish eldest sister Anne. Plus also sisters Laura and Mary are hit with the love bug as well. Yes there are plots within plots in this enthralling  novel.

What an entertaining fun read! I highly recommend as again Sabrina York weaves another delightful read! A book readers won't be able to put down.

It starts off  with five Clans attacking Gregor MacLeod's keep and losing. As a promise to his deceased wife Gregor MacLeod must find a solution and peace among the feuding Clans. Gregor comes up with a plan: each Laird has to give them his heir, their oldest son for fostering. Each son is destined to be the next Laird, if their fathers do not agree they will be punished by death! Each Laird reluctantly agrees, with a promise they will see their boys again and MacLeod will not harm the boys in any way. MacLeod thinking with his head not his heart wholeheartedly agrees! He knows if they were his blood kin he would of asked the same. He doesn't actually see these lairds as bad men mostly just weak and misguided. Plus he knows his wife would of been proud of how he untangled this deceitful web!  The five boys are Darach, Lachlan, Calum, Gavin and Kerr, whom become brothers and Gregor will become a devoted loyal foster father to them. As they become real brothers in truth from being fostered together, but also handsome, strong, good, honest, and  honorable men as well. They use both muscle and brains,  but always have each other's back, and will protect each other to the death!  Yet once you add a bonnie woman into the mix, as well as  their hearts - things become a wee bit  complicated to say the least! Highland Promise is Darach MacKenzie's story.

This deceitful woman brought hatred and revulsion between his clan and possibly a notorious clan war! A war he and his clan have been waiting and preparing for. Caitlin is extremely grateful to Laird Darach and the Mackenzie's but hasn't been totally honest. As she just can't easily trust men after these past three years of torture and imprisonment. Plus after all this wonderful clan has done for her she doesn't want to be the cause and reason to put them in danger. Possibly even causing them death and herself recapture. A position  she never ever wants to be in again she also knows she is naive and innocent when it comes to experience with men. She feels she must save funds so she can hire a ship to take her to her mother's family in France. 

A family she  has never met and this makes Darach's stomach turn. He knows the reality and evils of the world.He refuses to allow this innocent lass put herself in such a dangerous position. She could be raped or killed to undertake such a journey. Not to mention to be on such a long journey by sea and to trust people she has never met with open arms. Why they could be just as dangerous with evil intentions as the treacherous Frasers. Yet he doesn't want her to feel like she is his prisoner in his home by holding her against her will. He can’t take her to France himself with his upcoming clan war with the Fraser's. It would be just like them to attack his clan when he was away at sea. How can he convince her or will he ever open and listen to his heart?  As he is allowing the past to cloud his judgements in so many ways.

To find out more you must read this excellent book! As I was totally blown away by the beautiful tale that Alyson McLayne weaves. Honestly it is one of the best books I have read this year! Darach MacKenzie, is a major drool and swoon worthy Highlander you can't help but love! Caitlin is so feisty, witty, kind and caring you can't help but adore! 

This book grabbed, delighted  and encaptured me right from the start. A total masterpiece and the idea of enemy Lairds who tried to attack a clan and lost is absolutely brilliant! However, instead of losing their life, the Laird’s all agree and allow this enemy to foster their heirs. It is the next son in line to be Laird.  Laird MacLeod saw each son under ten years old. He could show and teach them how they can all live in peace and harmony as brothers. As they would always have each other's back, to care for and protect as if they were blood brothers!

This fast paced, non stop action novel is filled with riveting adventure, betrayal suspense , mystery, hatred, mistrust, healing, passion and love. It includes heart pulling scenes, plus how one wee Lass can change how a clan sees and treats their isolated and lonely Laird. A kind and caring man who always puts the clan and their needs first. 

 This book  is also  filled with a breathtaking setting, amazing dialogue  and brilliant plotting. It has so many twisting and nail biting turns. I was holding my breath with anticipation as what could possibly happen next!  It is the type of story that will pull your heartstrings and soften your soul, hoping the star crossed couple will take a chance on love!

Anyone who loves Scottish historical romance will not want to miss this epic story that will make your readers heart soar! 

I can't believe  this is Ms. McLayne debut! She writes like an experienced, professional, author that's been doing this for decades! I absolutely and unequivocally loved “The Promise” by Alyson McLayne! I can't wait for “Highland Conquest” the next  son’s book in The Son’s of Gregor McGregor series

This is with the help of Aedan’s meddling sister Gwen. Gwen has the gift of magic, Abby is actually brought to 17th century Scotland by Aedan’s sister Gwen. She doesn't want him to marry the 17th century harlot he has his eye on. Plus she knows her brother Aedan being Laird needs a wife like Abby and feels they are perfect for each other. As Gwen has been watching Abby for a long time. 

The problem is they don't seem to even like each other's company - gosh Aedan even thought of killing Abby at first. Even as they demand Abby be sent back to her proper time but soon as are drawn to each other. Then there are villains in at every corner along with malace and treachery. As two rival clan threaten Aedan's 21st century woman The tides of fate soon turn as he realizes no other woman but Abbey will do. Aedan will do anything to keep her from harms way! Yet will it be too little too late? You must read and find out in this captivating delightful read! 

Will Abbey stay or will she go? What will be best for Aedan and the clan? I also loved the relationship between Aedan and his best friend Ben ~ though it had heartbreaking moments too. 

This book is is a definite for Scottish historical readers. It has all the elements readers love. Filled with breathtaking settings that you can literally smell the heather with exquisite dialogue too. A beautifully written story that is both rich and intriguing. The plotting was just brilliant, with so many twists and turns and non-stop action! I was gasping for air, plus wondering with anticipation and bated breath, what could possibly happen next?  

This is my first book by this Australian author Tamara Gill. It definitely won't be the last! I absolutely and unequivocally loved this spectacular read “To Conquer a Scot”. I can't wait for the next book in the series!

A stranger took a dagger to Donnan’s sweet dog when he was out hunting. A dog he was given from Bethia’s brother and Laird Torrian . He is suspicious it is Bearchun as it seems he is stalking The Ramsey clan once again. With danger at ever turn plus Bearchun’s treachery and evil schemes are surfacing once again. This time he thinks the daft Bethia and Donnan will help in bringing the Ramsay’s demise once and for all. 

Will they or shall they surprise this villian with protective and warrior instincts? Will Donnan be able to let go of his past? Will Bethia ever be able to make her dreams come true? I highly recommend to read this spectacular book to find out the answers and so much more.

This is the tenth book and I have read and devoured each and every one. Yes you can read as a stand alone, but so much more fun to read them all. I love connecting all the family dots and getting to know all the characters  and whose related to who. 

Again another breathtaking exhilarating read that will leave you wanting more. Filled with nail biting, non-stop-action, adventure, suspense, mystery, betrayal, love and so much more. Plus I love that Ms.  Montclair allows us to revisit favorite Ramsay/Grant characters again and again. I feel part of their family reunion. In addition if you are a dog, furbaby or animal lover than this book is definitely for you. It sure pulled my heartstrings! 

Again Keira Montclair pens another exhilarating that I could not put down. It has all the elements historical Scottish romance readers love from breathtaking settings, colorful characters, swoon worthy heroes plus twisting and turning plots.

The heroine of this  story is Dani Amico. An unhappy lass, who is offered a new and job and marriage proposal, but neither excites her. She wants some excitement in her dull and boring life! Dani decides to go through her lists of things she always wanted to do - yet never did. Some call this a bucket list.  The first was on her bucket list is to visit an abandoned Island.  Dani researched this island  while writing her senior thesis paper in college. As she is extremely intelligent and educated with a masters degree in American History.

While visiting  this abandoned island - Dani locates a tiny tunnel, then she suddenly stumbles in and wakes up 242 years later! The year now is  1775, Dani is then  found by swoon worthy, braw, Scottish merchant,  Iain MacKail. He discovers her in his cellar and due to her clothing she is mistaken for a boy.  However Iain is also suspicious she is a British spy for the customs agent. So he has no choice, but to take her on his ship. A ship that is stuffed to the gills with illegal contraband!

As time goes on and tides and feelings change with love in the air. Yet in dark dangerous  waters this is a pre-nnrevolutionary war time period. A dangerous time to be in Massachusetts.

 Dani remembers reading in her time  that someone was had betrayed  Iain with devastating results for Iain’s future! As all she knows is Iain vanishes forever never to be found or seen again. She starts to wonder is this the reason she was sent here in the past? Is Dani to be Iain's savior or share in his doom and gloom and disappear with him? Now she has to make a devastating decision to find her way back to her time or stay and protect Iain . Which will she choose? Try to save the man she
loves or go home in the protection and safety of her own modern times? Will she stand beside him or runaway?

I suggest you read this delightful book to find the answers. This is the first time I read a book by Skye Taylor. I must add I was absolutely blown away by this fast paced page turning novel. It weaves together all the elements time-travel romance readers could possibly want. Filled with riveting adventure, mystery, suspense, treachery, villain, danger, betrayal passion, heartbreak and love.

You can read this as a stand alone book but I recommend you read book 3, “Must Love Kilts” first. As there are many character connections, plot lines and references to the main characters of this book. This is the story of time traveler Fiona Campbell and Duncan MacCowan. Fiona and Duncan have handfasted but on their wedding night she see’s his scar and tattoo and runs away. She now  knows who Duncan is and the role he is to play in her families  ancestry history. As he is meant to murder her ancestor William Campbell. The very one she is to save and make her name a legend. As Fiona felt she was pretty worthless in her own time until she hears the legend of Fiona told by her Granpappy. The one thing she has in common with her parents was her love of their families ancestry, legends, myths and lore. She fully believes if she's the Fiona of the Campbell Legend, it will make her a heroine and give her life a purpose. 

Poor Duncan believes she was so repulsed by his scar she abandoned him and their marriage. Plus they had no witnesses so it was like it never happened. Duncan’s history with women has not been great. His heart has been broken too many times which caused has self worth and trust issues. He feels unwanted and never good enough for any woman starting with his mother. This makes him want to protect his heart and swearing never to fall in love again. 

Now another wants to make Fiona his wife will Duncan allow this to happen. Plus he knows this marriage would be good for the clan. Yet the jealousy in his heart cannot be denied yet if he he tries to claim Fiona it could put possibly start a clan war! Plus he has yet to face Fiona’s ancestor which will make her a legend.  What will Duncan do fight for the woman he loves or step aside for the good of his clan? Plus will Fiona accept Duncan and put her fantasies and legends aside? If he does kills her ancestor will she ever be able to forgive Duncan?  

Another spellbinding  breathtaking exhilarating read that will leave you wanting more. Filled with non-stop-actions, history, magic, adventure, suspense, betrayal, steamy passion, love and so much more.  

I have read this entire series which is absolutely incredible. I have loved each and every one. I love the mix of paranormal, history and romance. Any historical romance reader won't want to miss this phenomenal read!

Again Ms. Howell pens a fast paced riveting Scottish-Western Romance that will blow readers away! - Barb Massabrook (Tartan Book Reviews)

Arkansas Ozarks, 1860

 The swoon worthy hero, Iain MacEnroy, is  the eldest of seven handsome Scottish brothers. He and his brother’s smell smoke. They knew their was no evidence of Indians, no arrows as Iain felt they were driven away with no sign of the natives returning. Yet there were lawless dangerous scoundrels sneaking about these hills. They did as they pleased and none of it good. 

They soon find a simmering cabin with a deceased man and woman's body. They were brutally murdered, both horrifically disfigured, plus the woman had also been raped and the man tortured. This was a brutal murder and it was personal as they didn't rob them leaving their gold wedding bands. Plus the woman had a gold pendant with miniatures of herself, husband and their bairn.  There was no evidence of the baby plus Iain was not certain how old the miniatures were. They bury the dead, as that is the Christian and right thing to do.  As these are honorable men. They would not allow this unfortunate dead couple be allowed to have their bodies be eaten by the animals or harmed by the elements. 

Soon they notice a blood trail that leaves them to find the dead woman's sister Emily Stranton and her three year old  nephew Neddy. A beautiful English woman the problem is the english accent reminds him of the hated English and the cruel authority and government back in Scotland. Plus he knew he was beneath her in social status as well. As Emily is the granddaughter of a Duke. Neddy is now the the heir of Duke. Their villainous evil cousin Albert want to kill them both To inherit. He has killed everyone who has tried to protect Emily and her now deceased sister. The reason they came to the new world to hide. 

After Emily passes out, Iain makes the decision to bring her to his home to heal, even with his hatred toward nobility. After she begins to heal she proves to Iain she is not some spoiled wealthy noble and can work as hard as any other. As Iain he had an attitude toward the titled as his Laird’s wife treated them like garbage and threw them off their clans land. She being a noblewomen and they being illiterate and uneducated not being able to read or write. A status Emily changes as she teaches them which is such a heartfelt moment.

They soon open their hearts and sparks ignite. To find true love but not without a price. As her evil cousin is upto his evil treachery and wants Emily and Neddy dead! As Iain finally opens his eyes to the woman he has fallen for. Will Iain be able to save them or is it too little too late? Does Iain even initiate a search and rescue attempt? You must read this marvelous book for the answer one I am certain any reader would enjoy! 

Another breathtaking,  heart tugging emotional read that you can't help but love. As Ms. Howell  again delivers another riveting,  non stop action story. It is filled with adventure, suspense, mystery,heartbreak,treachery, betrayal, hatred, prejudice, passion and love.  Another Hannah Howell novel readers won't be able to put down. 

I highly recommend as I absolutely loved The Scotman Who Saved me. The first in Hannah Howell’s brand new series Seven Brides/Seven Scotman.

The hero of this book is Conner Douglas, Anna’s middle brother. Conner is furious he is being forced into an unwanted marriage. Then he realizes not much of his life has to change just because he's married. He will still be able to carry on with the married women of the ton. As this is accepted behavior for married men. A wife who will turn the other cheek for his indiscretions.What Conner needs is a mousie biddable wife and he knows just the lady!

Connor heads to a childhood acquaintance now a spinster, English woman, Theodora “Thea” Cumberbatch-Snowe.Yet when he goes to get her he finds out she's run off to marry a local farmer! Conner being egotistical and thinking Thea is a sure thing is running late and has a month to secure this marriage. He thought he didn't have to rush and she would be available, willing, able and would feel like the luckiest woman in the world to be his wife! As if he is the man of her dreams.Well he wasn't about to let this perfect opportunity to obtain the perfect, biddable, wife getaway!

What Conner doesn't realize is Thea has been in love with him for years. She knows Conner doesn't think of her anything more than a distant friend.  Tired of waiting she decides to marry someone else. hoping it will be a good match. She doesn't expect to find the man of her dreams charging after her!

Again Karen Hawkins pens another delightful tale from start to finish. I have been reading Karen’s novels for years and they always are captivating and breathtaking. Books that are unforgettable with all the elements historical romance readers love! Caught by the Scot is no different. I absolutely loved this charming read it made me laugh and also made me cry. It brought so many emotions out of me and I could never put it down. A book I highly recommend that any romance reader does not want to miss.

Eons ago...

Highland Warrior and time traveler, Alec MacDara and his three warrior brothers travel forward in time.This is to protect the sacred ancient relic Heartstone. They masquerade and keep under complete secret and under the guise and deception as owners and operators of a theme park. The park is called Highland Life and Legends.

As of late the chairman and CEO of the theme park, Alex has been ignoring and refusing request to film on its lands and premises. Then he meets gorgeous Sadie Williams, the sister of the motion picture company owner.  It is the first time he can put away his 10th century Scottish home out of mind. He agrees to allow her to film as long as she reports to him every day. 

As Alex can't help but be extremely attracted to this beautiful female. A woman who doesn't realize her self worth  or full potential due to her evil sister Delia. Delia who had always treated Sadie as if she was something beneath her shoe. Due to Sadie being adopted,  this cruel treatment Sadie has to endure gives self esteem and confidence issues and always feels like an insecure mouse. As her job is lonely assistant but her dream is to become a brilliant confidant screen writer! 

Then this irresistible Highlander is a major confidence builder. Just exactly what Sadie needs to be the woman she was meant to be. As the sparks between these two fly and build into something remarkable. The question is will these two and their feelings be enough to build a bond strong enough to last forever?

A beautiful enchanting story,  that will warm time-traveler fans  hearts and leave them spell bound. Some major heart pulling moments so have your tissues ready. As a fan of Maeve Greyon’s  page turning exhilarating reads, I  highly recommend you check this and her previous “Highland Hearts” series which is absolutely fabulous. I wonder which brother and what relic weapon will belong to Grant, Ross and Ramsay as the sword is Alec’s relic weapon. I also wonder if the youngest sister will get a book as an expert archer. Well I guess us readers have no choice but to wait and see.

This is the story of lady’s man Gavin St. James, Earl of Thorne. A highlander known to be a rake and ladies man but a man with a dark childhood. Gavin covets the lands of Erradale Estate that  Scottish heiress Alison Ross owns. Yet things don't go a smoothly as he expects. As this Casanova is not used to rejection in any shape or form whatsoever from the fairer sex. It was obvious this lass was no damsel in distress!


Samantha “Sam” Masters kills her husband, saving the life of her new friend Scottish heiress,Alison Ross. Then they make a deal, as Alison doesn't want to leave America. Been living in the States since she was a child plus having a fiancé in San Francisco. They know both know  the law and the Masters brothers are going to go after Samantha. As one of the brother’s witnessed the murder of her husband,their brother. This was unknown to Sam until after the murder was done.

Sam needs to get out of Dodge and fast! She is realizing she rather be hung by US Marshals, than have the diabolical Masters brothers deal with her! They would want revenge and torture to make Sam suffer for their brothers murder. Then Alison comes up with a plan for Sam to switch places with her! Killing two birds with one stone per say...

Alison realizes Samantha does have experience on ranches with cattle,riding horses and mathematics. All the things necessary to sustain her lands. As Alison has had o put her wedding on hold due to this offer on her Scottish estate. She has to return to her Scottish estate as she made a promise to her dad before his die. Never allow a MacKenzie take their lands! So of course Gavin St. James is the one to covet her family's ancestral lands! The elder Laird now dead MacKenzie’s demonic father! Plus she must live on her estate for a period of time to prove she has not abandoned her families estate.

Gavin thought this was to be an easy purchase, but than he realizes again his father even dead is ruining another thing for him. Plus he can't help but be attracted to what he thinks is a spoiled heiress. He uses duplicity to attain his lands to put him in a charming light. He is used to women falling at his feet, but realizes the tides have turned in this scenario. As it is he who has fallen for the American raised chit!

Samantha knows the Masters brothers will never stop looking for her. Marriage is her only answer. Gavin who want both the woman and the lands is more than ready. Yet as always lies, betrayal and deceit have a way to catch up with you. Will this star crossed couple stay together with love in their heart. Will they go their separate ways with feelings of hatred and betrayal or just a shredded heart? You must read this

Lots  of major surprises in this action packed captivating nail biter! Flawed characters with dark pasts that you can't help but adore! It is stored with all the memorable elements historical romance readers love. Another beautifully written heart puller that readers won't be able to put down. Also a major compelling teaser for The Rook, which will be book #6 in this powerful  Victorian series that I can't wait to read!

As always in this sensational unforgettable series….Ms.Byrne pens another page turning fabulous book. The type of book readers will want to revisit and read again and again. I know for me her stories stay with me for a long time after I have read them. Only the outstanding and remarkable novels do this to me. Her books seems more real to me, as I know cursing is in my everyday life. I am sure people cursed in the 18th and 19th century too. I actually love the cursing in  her stories.

Kerrigan Byrne, is one one those rare  extraordinary authors, whose stories bring every emotion out of me! That is  from giddiness, to tears,to cursing, and to gasping for air! Her books are pretty incredible to me and I can't recommend this wonderful author enough! It is a definite book you don't want to miss! The

Diocail Gordon is the hero of this  story. He has recently been awarded title of Laird from his neglectful dead Uncle. With his sorry, neglected, crumbling, castle and muddled disorderly clan. Diocail isn't sure if being the new Laird is an award or a curse! He also realized he needs a wife and helpmate at his side. Yet what woman would want him with the sorry state the clan and broken down castle are in! He doesn't expect love nor even wants it, yet wants someone to help clean up this mess his Uncle left for him. His intention is to be a good Laird so that his clan will believe in him and never suffer again. However can he achieve it goal? It is obvious that most in the clan do not trust or believe in their new appointed Laird.

Lady Jane Stanley is paying for her dead husband’s bad habits and mistakes. He was a gambler and drunkard, but now all the money he owed his creditors expect Jane to pay. With money or her body, it does not matter! Money she doesn't have, yet she will never be any mans whore!

Jane trying to escape back to her family in  England, but walks right into the viper's nest in only a shift, without even shoes! Diocail Gordon’s has muddled warriors, however as muddled they might be, they are an honorable motley crew.

They are disgusted a husband would leave his wife in such dire straits! Even to offer to bid sexual favors from her to pay off his debts! They could tell she was of noble blood. In addition proved to her there are worthwhile professions she could pick, without stepping into prostitution. Especially with her fine talent with a needle and thread.

Jane knows she needs this warmhearted braw highlander and soft hearted warriors to protect her. The problem is can she protect her heart?

Now Jane is hiding in Scotland away from her husband’s creditors. Diocail decides to do anything to help Jane, as his best laid plan is to keep her hidden in his rundown fortress. Now what will she do once she sees his state of affairs and wreck of a castle? Plus danger at every corner, not everyone is thrilled with Diocail as Laird and that Jane is from the hated English! Is she safe? Will Jane want to stay or escape even more ?

Diocail wants this woman to want to stay, but how can he convince her? He also wants her to pick him.

After such a bad first marriage Jane is in no hurry to remarry. Though as a fourth daughter, she knows that is exactly what her father will do. Pick another useless cruel husband! This Scottish Highlander is not the the cruel savage she had always been told. He is is kind, honorable and gives hot passionate fiery kisses  like she's never had before!

With matters of the heart this is never easy. A definite read you don't want to miss! Filled with all the elements Scottish romance readers love. A riveting adventure, drama, treachery, murder, arranged marriage, jealousy, betrayal, deception, anger, forgiveness, passion, love and so much more.

 I have read each book in this series, that has been absolutely exhilarating novels! It has been a delight to read from start to finish.

Scottish historical romance readers will love the swoon worthy hero, plus a heroine who knows what she wants. The chemistry sizzles right off the pages! Magnificent setting, brilliant dialogue and superb plotlines! Plus the fact of never knowing what to anticipate next. I can't wait to see what comes out next!
