All the lads in the Clan know you never touch Logan Ramsay’s daughter if you value your life!  She is totally off limits if you want to birth any offspring in your future! Warrior Cailean MacAdam her protector keeps saving her life,  but is also very attracted to Sorcha . Sorcha is very independent and claustrophobic cannot stay within the castle walls.  She can convince anyone to agree to her desires even with enemy arrows are aiming at her!

Yet Sorcha has a good heart too always putting others before herself as she wants her siblings and cousins happy too. Of course her love for her beloved horse Horsie is so heartfelt and charming too.

While her Dad was away she wants to make him proud and take down a boar. She convinces the Ramsay guards to take her into forest, well beyond the castle walls. As this is what she did before her sister Molly got married and left her. Plus since she got her woman's body she is not the apple of her father's eye anymore. In addition her mother spends most of her time with her younger sibling. She feels abandoned and has guilt from a past transgression and wants to make her father proud of her. She convinces some of the Ramsay guards to take her on a hunting trip. The hunting trip turns into a disaster,  as they are attacked by arrows. The guards surrounded Sorcha immediately and no one was hurt badly but Horsie. Horsie is Sorcha’s best friend and beloved horse she got as a gift from her father as a child. She is extremely upset when at first her guards want to exterminate Horsie. No way would she allow it, this is when Cailean MacAdam knows he feels something for Sorcha. As he has wanted to court her for some time. He knows Logan would never allow it, plus for some reason in his past he doesn't believe in love or marriage.Mainly because of his parents turbulent marriage. In addition what sane Ramsay warrior would want to get on Logan’s bad side?

When Cailean meets his match in Sorcha, she meets her match in Cailean. As this strapping, braw warrior is powerful and assertive. No weak and squishy lad will do for this lass!

Plus what Ramsay warrior would want to get on Logan’s bad side ? Not if they value their private assets and life itself. Plus trouble is brewing between Grant and Ramsay lands. On top of that the best swordsman in the highland has been badly injured. That is Laird Alex Grant. As there seem to be enemies and danger at every turn. On top of so much mayhem and treachery how can Cailean show his Laird he is worthy of his daughter? This is Logan's first born daughter, one he refuses to allow to grow up!  In addition the Sorcha and her father are so similar in so many ways! Will Logan Ramsay the most terrifyingly man in the highlands ever accept a match for his daughter? Even one of his honorable warriors? Will Cailean even live to tell the tale? How can Sorcha convince her father she has grown up and there is only one man for her. Will her stubborn frightening father say ye or nay to allow Cailean to court her? Even if Cailean is shaking in his boots, but for the woman he loves he will do anything to prove his worth! Will Logan Ramsay ever accept him?

You must read this spectacular novel and find out. Another fast paced page turner that readers won't be able to put down. I have read this entire series and each book has been absolutely brilliant.I recommend you read them all. You can also read Sorcha as a stand alone books as it is the 8th book in the series. I think Sorcha is now my favorite. I absolutley loved this action packed heart pulling romance. It has so many twists and turns that you might need to catch your breath!

As Ms. Montclair does it again and writes another magnificent novel,  that Scottish romance readers will absolutely love!

ISLE OF ISLAY, HIGHLANDS OF SCOTLAND

DECEMBER, 1522

Cullen Duffie has recently been made Chief of the ferocious Clan MacDonald. His Grandfather recently died and made him Chief, skipping over his very own sons. Cullen was Tor’s friend in Book #1,The Beast of Aros Castle.

A woman named Madeleine Renald washes up on Islay Isle, but she cannot speak and has no memory, not even her own name! As MacDonald Chief, Cullen orders everyone to call her Rose. Since she had pretty roses embroidered on her gown. As Rose’s memory starts to return in little fragments, but soon pieced it all together and realises she has put The Clan MacDonald in great danger by just being here on Islay Isle!

When Rose is disgusted as she realizes how her very own mother abused and sold her to the highest bidder! That happens to be King Louis, King of France! This could put The MacDonald clan in a very bad predicament, as the English and French are foes at this time and could call The MacDonald clan traitor!  They could exile them or possibly even have them executed!  Now Cullen desires Rose like no other, he will not just hand her over to the evil Sassenach!  Yet he does not want his clan in danger either. Plus he gave Rose his solemn oath he would protect her,  plus he wants her like no other woman!

Yet all the mama’s on the isle want their daughter to marry the new Laird even by trickery. As healer Agnes’s  daughter Beatrice,  who keeps chasing Cullen as many females. They are hoping he will put a babe in their belly so they get a title and all the trimming that goes with being a Laird’s wife! It has nothing to do with feelings or love and everything to do with greed!  This French lass impresses Cullen not just her beauty, but with her bravery and courage too!  Rose finds Cullen pretty irresistible too, with his honor and honesty, which is so refreshing and the opposite of the men in French court.

Yet Rose/Madeleine is being hunted by those she ran away from, will she be caught? Will she vanish from Cullen's life forever?  What is her future to be freedom in Scotland or slavery in France? You will have to read this spectacular read and find out!

Scotland, 1812

The brawny, strapping, honorable highlander, Laird Graeme Maxton of clan Maxwell, can't wait to put his neighbor the  villainous, Sassenach, Duke Lattimer, in his place! Plus the fact it will reward him with enough money~he will never have to worry about his ot the clan’s finances ever again! ! Then his impulsive brother goes and blows it - he actually abducts Lattimer’s gorgeous sister, Lady Marjorie Forrester, whom basically ends up in his lap!

The only honorable thing he can do is marry this beautiful lass or have a bloody clan war! Graeme feels she is just too beautiful to be ruined, yet ruined she will be if word gets out. Plus the fact if caught his brother’s would go to prison! Plus even Lady Marjorie’s life is in jeopardy! No, not by him or his young brothers, of course not, yet the clan chief could order her execution to avoid a clan war! In addition his clan would be in all sorts of trouble if he sent her back. They could take everything away from them, their lands, home, even order the clan in exile So no going back for Lady Marjorie, it is just not going to happen.

What they don't realize is this new Duke was previously orphaned and took a commission so he could support his sister. As Marjorie wanted more than anything to be accepted by the ton. Yet they keep snubbing her and giving her the cut direct! As they would always see her as a penniless orphan or lady’s companion. Even though she went to the best boarding and finishing schools and was every bit the lady. Even her former friends won't have anything to do with her new life, Marjorie is very lonely and her brother the new Duke Lattimer, is so far away in the Highlands. So when she hears Gabriel, her brother is getting married, it is the perfect opportunity for her! To meet his fiancé Fiona and visit her only family her dearest brother, Gabriel!

Marjorie knows she should be scared out of her wits being abducted in the highlands by highland scoundrels.  Yet how can she be when she meets the most gorgeous braw highlander! As it happens to be the leader The Viscount, Laird Graeme Maxton. Yet she knows she can't stay here forever but he seems to have other plans as he can't seem to keep his hands to himself. With a heavy heart, Marjorie knows it was time to leave. Will Graeme allow it or even want it? As he has so many burdens on his strong shoulders, saving his clan, avoiding a clan war and avoid turning Marjorie over to the clan chief! She could be slaughtered so that isn't even an option and his young brothers would go to prison! Yet at the moment his biggest concern, was saving his heart!

As in all star crossed romances, it was his heart and honor that was in danger, also in jeopardy of being broken. Marjorie’s coat was also not made of chain mail, as they both have fallen deeply in love. How does it resolve you will have to read this magnificent book to find out.

This is the second book in the No Ordinary Hero Series by Suzanne Enoch. As usual this talented author will blow you away and pull your heartstrings and melt your soul. Terrific dialogue, amazing character development, breathtaking settings, plots that make your heart melt and pulse race.

The secondary characters like Marjorie's Mrs. Giswell, the duckling-Connell, Brendan and Dùghlas were all phenomenal and made me laugh a lot!

Another fast paced page turner with all the elements historical romance readers love. This book is filled with abduction, conflict, suspense mystery, devilish impish children and animals that you just can't help but love! In addition a highlander hottie and beautiful damsel that could cause some heat. Plus in addition falling madly in love who will win this love on the battlefield? Will they stay together or part their separate ways? You will have to read it and find out.

This book follows book #1 Hero in The Highlands perfectly. It is about Marjorie’s brother Gabriel and his now Scottish  fiancé Fiona. It was the perfect set-up for this book so yes I highly recommend you start at the beginning. I think you will learn more of the siblings struggles from book #1 and how they landed titled and wealthy from penniless orphans. You can also read as stand alone books, readers choice.

Scotland
Summer, 1480

This is the story of Artan Murray and Cecily Donaldson. As her sickly aging Uncle wants to make her his heir of Glascreag. Definitely not his worthless spineless nephew Magnus, who would not take care of his lands or the people.

Artan was suspicious of the old bugger and with good reason. He wanted Artan to become Laird of Glascreag, through marriage to his niece Cecily. Yes,it had it's merits, as he was the second son born minutes after his twin Lucas. Then his stomach rolled when he found out where she was living! As she had been raised and lived in the bloody lowlands!  Plus he would never agree to marry anyone without meeting them first.

Let me just say this damsel, Cecily is the heroine that saves the day when Artan is in dire need. She is not the lass her Uncle describes as sweet and biddable, especially when she makes demands of Artan. Yet he still keeps on the right track as no lass deserves a loveless marriage!

Yet the tables turn to love as Artan and Cecily spend time together.Who could not love a lass who saves him? Will it be enough to marry her? Does she even want to leave her home and live in Glascreag and get married?

Plus she is supposed to be married to Sir Fergus by relatives who want to steal her fortune! Was Artan too late or does he save the day with this dire news? How will Cecily respond? Though you can feel the sparks between these two, right from the first kiss. What a kiss it was too!  You will have to read this marvelous story to find out.

This is the 13th book in the best selling Murray Family Series by Hannah Howell. I have been reading Ms Howell’s books for years always a great treat.

This was originally released in 2006 but was revamped with a new cover for 2017. I love re-reading Hannah Howell’s novel’s as she has been one of my favorite authors for a couple decades!

I have to admit The Murray Family series is my favorite! Always a delight to read from start to finish.

I highly recommend Highland Barbarian by Hannah Howell and read all her books in Murray Family Series. Always amazing and magnificent reads.

If you love Scottish Historical romance like myself, then you definitely need to put Hannah Howell on your must read list!

Amazing dialogue, the setting is timeless and the plotting is brilliant!  I was actually waiting with baited breath and anticipation what will happen next.

It was non-stop-action from the beginning to the end! Spectacular novel!

Now The McKenna Clan is a family of warriors,  one of the largest and fiercest clans in the Highlands. They are honorable faithful, and would cover and protect each other from danger, risk and jeopardy. You would not want to be an enemy to face them on the battlefield, as they would brutally rip you apart. If finding the right mate they are passionate, faithful, possessive, caring, gentle, kind and extd! remely energetic in bed

The hero of this novel is Sir Malcolm McKenna, a widowed single father. The only lass he spoils these days is his young 5 year old daughter Lileas. He is the eldest son of Laird Brian McKenna. Malcolm could love deeply and passionately if only he could find the right woman. He wants an equal partner not a meek mouse or a child bride. As he needs an heir and no woman has opened his eyes or heart except for Lady Joan Armstrong Fraser. Of course he see’s her beauty as she is the most beautiful woman in Scotland! He wants more than that, she still seems so cold, spoiled and aloof! It isn't like they are strangers or acquaintances, as they have known each other since childhood. Back then her father spoiled her like a royal heir, he assumes nothing has changed, but he is gravely mistaken.

Yet this time he opens his blue eyes a bit longer and starts to understand her dislike and fear of men. He see’s she does indeed have love in her heart with her young son Callum, who she is protecting. Seeing she would make a wonderful mother for his daughter too, was just another lovely addition. Plus Joan steps up to protect him from a horrible slander on him as a libertine of ruining young virgins! This not only hurts Malcolm, but it darkens the reputation of the entire McKenna clan. Yet is Joan the woman for him? A woman that never wants to marry again and seems to fear men as well.

The heroine of this story, a woman who ended her marriage from Laird Archibald Fraser. As her husband abused her both mentally and physically. Plus she fears as her young son gets older, he will turn his violence on their innocent child and possibly kill her first. A child he has  always ignored and acted like he does not exist his own heir! All his clan members treat her terribly, not with the respect or decency she deserves as the Laird's wife! It had been a living hell when she tells her father of her abuse she pretty much gets no help or protection from him. He finally relents and allows her in his home again as he changed after her mother died. All she wants is love and knows he just needs her help to run his large estate, but she wants a future for Callum. Until she meets the evil young Agnes the one who wants to marry her father and give him the male child he craves. The mean spirited and young Agnes only wants to marry him for all the wrong reasons! It is obvious she wants Joan and her sweet son out of their lives too.

Joan’s father was chosen as mediator between the two feuding clans The McKennas and The MacPhearson’s. Accusing Malcolm of a heinous crime of ruining Laird MacPhearson’s daughter Brienne. Macphearson has put a bounty on Malcolm’s head and planned to have to force a marriage but Malcolm tells them he is already married! To who? Plus the Laird MacPhearson’s daughter has her own confession to make. This will change everything!

Super fast paced riveting romantic adventure and a dog saves the day! It has all the elements Scottish historical romance readers love plus the mischievous children you can't help but love. A dog named Prince, which is the name of my first dog as a child, so this touched my heart too.

The setting was so realistic and breathtaking you can feel the water of the ice cold loch and smell the heather! The plotting was to perfection in my opinion! Plus the dialogue was absolutely brilliant.  This was a spectacular book you just don't want to put down. As some parts make you laugh and some make you cry. This novel had me at the edge of my seat never knowing what to expect next! It was filled with suspense, adventure abuse, treachery, betrayal, hatred, mistrust, fear, revenge, heartbreak, abduction, slander, faith, trust, hope, joy, happiness, passion and love!

It was really so  beautifully written. Bravo to Adrienne Basso as I absolutely and unequivocally loved “No Other Highlander!
